A true warrior was never one who couldn't be wounded — but one who kept going while still bleeding, knowing how to tend to their own wounds along the way.
On the battlefield of Troy, there was an herb made for wounded soldiers. Achilles used it to stop bleeding and heal his men. The plant was later named after him — Achillea. We call it Yarrow.
Yarrow is remarkably resilient. Barren soil, dry climates — nothing stops it from growing. It's not that it isn't affected by its surroundings, but that wherever it finds itself, it finds a way to survive.
Its scent carries a herbal bitterness, a hint of medicine. It doesn't smell sweet, but it feels grounding and steady. A quiet reminder: the wound still hurts, but you're still here, still moving.
We've all had times when we had to keep going while still healing. Not because it didn't hurt, but because we knew we couldn't stay still. Those days of mending and marching at the same time — that, in itself, is courage.
May this grounding, herbal scent be a gentle embrace for the part of you still on the road.
Grounded in the present, spoken through scent.
