"The beauty of Xiaoman lies in not yet being full."
Xiaoman, the solar term meaning "small fullness," marks when things are ripening but not yet ripe.
Small fullness. Not yet great fullness.
Perhaps the most beautiful state in life is much the same:
not needing to be entirely full, just enough being good enough.
Amanatsu, a sweet taste of summer. Sweet within sour, bright and clean, without the heaviness of a sweet orange or the sharpness of a lemon. Luminous, clear, and juicy — the flavor of early summer, the color of hope.
No rush toward completion, no rush to arrive.
To rest in that moment of almost-full is already enough.
Grounded in the present, spoken through scent.
