維吉尼亞雪松的香氣非常純粹。迎面而來是乾燥的鉛筆屑氣味，隨後散發出被陽光曬過的古老木屋質感，末端透着烘焙花生的微溫。

其實，維吉尼亞雪松是一棵常常被忽略的樹。因為太常見了，幼樹甚至會被當成雜木。它的名字也是錯的——植物學上，它其實是杜松，從來就不是真正的雪松。

可剖開樹幹，裡頭那層深紅色的心材，天生抗腐、堅韌，是整棵樹最有價值的部分。

不需要急於被正確地看見。內在的東西，時間自然會替它證明。
